Musical Events

Music, festivals and theater represent the artistic side of Riviera di Ponente. There are a lot of events that can satisfy each kind of listener: pop, jazz, classic music and more. Music bands cheer the evenings in our city centers, jazz players improvise amazing solos and great classic musicians like Uto Ughi are protagonists of the most important festivals in our territory.

International Chamber Music Festival - Cervo

The International Chamber Music Festival of Cervo is one of the most important classic music events in our region. Born in 1964 thanks to the violinist, composer and conductor Sándor Végh, this Festival today is internationally affirmed. The hungarian composer, amazed by the magnificent acoustic of the Cervo's Corallini square, cooperated with the village administration to create and organizate this important musical event.

Since its origin, this Festival hosts musicians from all over the world and the events enjoy one of the most suggestive location of our territory. We are proud that some of the most influent artists of the music history played here: Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Sviatoslav Richter, Wilhelm Kempff, Maurizio Pollini, Bruno Canino, Luciano Berio, Paul Badura Skoda, Andreas Schiff, Uto Ughi, Katia and Marielle Labeque. In the last tens of years, Cervo's Festival has also hosted internationally known Jazz musician like the fusion pianist Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock (composer of Cantaloupe Island!) and Stefano Bollani.

This event included 'Memorial Naco', a drum international competition created in 1997 by Bonaccorso to keep alive the memory of his brother Giuseppe 'Naco' Bonaccorso died in a car accident the year before. Naco was a creative drummer that played with great pop and jazz artists of the italian music panorama: Fabrizio de Andrè, Paolo Fresu and Dado Moroni.
